Ingredients
For the Dough
- Wheat Flour – 2 1/2 cup
- Oil / Ghee – 2 tsp + for frying
- Salt
- Water , to knead
For the Stuffing
- Aloo / Potato , boiled – 1 lb
- Roasted Cumin Powder (Dry roast cumin seeds, then grind) – 1tsp
- Cilantro , chopped – 2tbsp
- Red chili powder – 1 tsp
- Salt , to taste
- Chaat masala – 1 tsp (optional)
Method
1. Peel and mash the boiled potatoes.
2. Mix all the ingredients for stuffing with the mashed potatoes , combine well. Keep aside.
3. Mix flours with salt and oil. Knead with water to make a soft dough. Cover and let it sit for 30 min.
4. Divide the dough into equal lemon size balls.
5. Take one ball and roll it into a circle of about 4 inch.
6. Put a decent amount of filling in the middle of the rolled dough.
7. Cover the stuffing by bringing all the edges together and make a ball.
8. Roll it into a 6 inch circle.
9. Now heat a tava, once hot, place the rolled dough. Turn it over when one side is done. Add a dab of oil or ghee on top and cook both sides.
10. Serve hot with mango pickle or tomato ketchup.
