Ingredients
- Chicken – 3 lb
- Onions , chopped – 1 1/2 small
- Onions , paste – 1 1/2 small
- Oil – 4-5 tbsp
- Cinnamon stick – 2 inch
- Cardamom pods – 3-4
- Cloves – 3-4
- Turmeric Powder – 2 tsp
- Red chili Powder – 1 1/2 tsp
- Garlic cloves – 3-4
- Ginger – 1 1/2 ich
- Tomato – 1 large
- Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
- Garam masala powder – 2 tsp
- Ghee – 1 tbsp
- Sugar – 1/2 tsp
- Salt, to taste
Method
1. Marinade chicken with salt and turmeric for 1/2 an hour.
2. Make a fine paste with onion , garlic , ginger and tomato.
3. Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan , add whole spices.
4. When they begin to splutter add chopped onion , fry until golden brown.
5. Now add onion mix paste ( with ginger , garlic and tomato ) , salt , sugar , turmeric powder , red chili powder and coriander powder , fry until oil starts to separate. Stir frequently.
6. Add marinated chicken and fry for 4-5 minutes. Sprinkle water if necessary. Stir frequently.
7. Add enough water, when comes to boil , cover and cook over medium-low heat until done, about 15-20 minutes.
8. Add garam masala and ghee , mix well , cook for another minute.
9. Serve hot with roti , paratha or rice.
